Photo Browsing

I'm supposed to be asleep right now, but I can't. I want to stay up. It's too early to get asleep.

A while ago, I was browsing the photos of my friends through friendster and facebook.. I just miss them.. and I think.. I think.. I think, I should also take pictures of myself.. *toinks*

Well, actually it's not about the picture I'm looking at, but how the picture was taken. Every photo holds a memory. I just hope that I could get pictures of the important things that happened to me. Just a remembrance, because someday, when I get old... I would like to reminisce what I have been.. *Drama.. lols..*

6th Year Bezfrhensary

August 28, 2009

Today is the 6th year anniversary of our Bezfrhenship. Yes, 6 years had already passed. Now, we're living our own lives. Divine is now starting to build her own family. She'll do fine and I know she's happy. Me, I'm living my independent life, plans thwarted and living this world of surprises.

Before I left her, I made a promise. I'll be back... I'll just need four years to fulfill what my family wanted me to be. After four years, I graduated. However, things were no longer the way I thought they would be. I forgot that the only constant thing in this world is change. I guess my personal sacrifice was not paid for. That's what hurts the most. I don't regret what happened. It's just the way they are. It always remind me that I'm the dumbest person in the world.

Erase erase erase.. I should be talking about this day.. This day when somebody called me best friend. It was one of the happiest things that happened to me and I'll always treasure this.

6 years and counting. Best friends, we'll always be.

Resignation

I've just submitted my resignation letter. It's final. September 12 will be my last day of employment in Qualfon Philippines, which is 15 days from now. Though I don't really like to leave the company, but I have to. I don't think I could support my family well if I stay longer. The compensation is alright but I'm now the bread winner so I need to make a way to meet the needs of my family. Moving to another company with better compensation is the only option.

I'll miss this company.. The countdown starts.. now..

August 27, 2009

My phone simulation with Blue Shield account was done. I passed. It was a health insurance account. I hope I'll get along with the new account, new environment and new people. After the interview, the HR called me once again and informed me about the changes for the contract. The special assignment bonus was removed because my account has a fixed schedule. But she also explained to me about the bonus 2000 php that I will receive since I already have a call center experience but I will only receive it if I perform well. It's kinda unfair but I'll just accept it. I decided to accept the job offer because I know this company, Aegis People Support has a better compensation package than my current company. Let's see how it goes. But I do I hope this would be the last call center I'll work for.

Something has happened!
Congratulations, arthurcrux_07, you just found 200 Neopoints on the floor!!!

Interview Fiasco

Rest day. I went to Aegis this morning because I'm supposed to have my account interview as what I was told last week before I signed the contract. All I can remember that it's around 9 AM or 9:30. I arrived few minutes past 9 and nobody from the recruitment was calling my name. So I guess my interview was 9:30.

It was already 9:30, I waited. It's now 9:45, no one's still calling my name. Applicants scheduled for the 10AM exam were already in. Still, I'm there sitting and waiting. I waited some more. It's already 10:30. Am I really scheduled for an interview? I kept on waiting...

Wait.. Wait.. Wait..

It's now 11 AM. I approached the HR who passed by and who made one of my interviews. I told her why I'm here. Minutes later, the HR who told me to come called and told me that they will check again my schedules. It seems that they've forgotten that I have an appointment with them. She then told me that the interviewer will not be able for the next 30 minutes. The person who will interview me actually passed by and told me to wait for 30 minutes because he will just need to do something.

I waited for 30 minutes. I was so hungry...

It's now 11:30. I was still not called. I waited some more.. Another 30 minutes..

It's already past 12:00. I'm really starving and I don't think I could answer the questions anymore. Yet, nobody's still calling me. I think they took their lunch. Naaaaaaaa! I'm done with this. I'm tired of waiting. I left the place.

I've waited for more than 3 hours. I know how this kind of business value time. I hope they also value mine. I'll just wait for their call. Anyway, I'm done with the signing of contract.

Welcomes and Farewells

August 25, 2009

Miss Tash is no longer our supervisor. She was assigned to a new Customer Retention Team (CRT). Our new supervisor is our former nesting mentor, Sir Churchill. He's a good mentor when we're still in training so I think he'll be a good supervisor to our team as well. However, I'll be leaving this team soon. Miss Tash has been a great leader to our team. She's very kind, understanding and very approachable. She's the ideal team leader a team could ask for. I realized, we are following our career paths and for us to be better, we need to take one step higher. That's also what I'll be doing, why I'm leaving this team and this company.

After shift, my teammates together with our two supervisors, Miss Tash and Sir Churchill, went to NUVO bar. More booze, more food, more singing, more laughter - it was a blast! It's like our semi-Team building which will never happen anymore. Some of our team mates were already endorsed to CRT, which means they will also be assigned to another team. Same thing with Miss Tash. Team Tash aka Team Rocket won't be complete again, aside from the fact that I'll be leaving soon.

My new browser - Google Chrome

I've just installed Google Chrome and I think this is a good browser. The interface is good and it feels like I'm using a customized AOL browser with Firefox' touch. It loads webpages faster compared to Internet Explorer and Firefox. I believe I'll get along with this browser. :D

Sharkfire.com No more

Bad news. The domain name sharkfire.com was already taken. If I'm going to upgrade this blog, of course I'll choose sharkfire.com to be my domain name. Sharkfire is my code name. I created "sharkfire" myself and I never thought that anyone else in this world could also think of the same name. Anyway, that's alright but I always wanted that my dream personal website would be named sharkfire.com. I guess I'll just take sharkfire.org since it is still available.

I'm just wondering why would the author of sharkfire.com choose this name if they're site is about saving sharks. It doesn't make sense.

From US to Japan to Manila to Cebu to Leyte

August 22, 2009

My cousin, Kuya Jade just arrived from United States. He's back to accomplish something and it's none of our business so let's not talk about it. Only few selected relatives knew that he's coming back that's why I'm the only one who fetched him at the airport. Too bad, the baggage he brought was not with him because of some mistakes on the airlines end. All the baggage from passengers that came from Detroit was misplaced while they're on their connecting flight in Japan. We'll still need to wait tomorrow to retrieve them. From the airport, we went straight to SM City Cebu and stroll around while waiting for our other cousin Cielo Mae. I missed both of them. When I was still a freshman, the three of us were living in the same house with our Tita Perla. Almost 5 years had passed and we are now living our own lives not the way we thought it would be. That's why I'm so glad that we're together again, the three of us. Later, he'll be traveling to our province, Southern Leyte.

A thought came to my mind once again. He was supposed to be my elder brother in paper. My parents were supposed to keep him and in fact he was baptized under our surname, Acallar. But his mother changed her mind and just accepted the full responsibility of taking care of him and he grew up with our grandfather. I was wondering what could've happened if he lived with us. I would not long for an elder brother perhaps. He could've finished his studies and living a very good life. Things are just the way they are. Everything happens for a reason... Indeed.

Moving on to a new company

August 20, 2009

Yesterday, I was at Aegis People Support and I took the examination and the interviews. Fortunately, I passed the two and next step in the recruitment process was Background Check. The HR personnel told to me to wait for 24-48 hours and they'll give me a feedback if I will continue or not. Around 11 am earlier, the HR who interviewed me yesterday called and she scheduled me for computer proficiency assessment, phone simulation and final interview. I passed those things. The HR who made the final interview asked me to return by 5 PM for contract signing. I did it! However, I still have another interview by next week and that's a client-specific interview.

My problem: I need to resign to my present job since I already signed the contract. The compensation of my new company is better than my present company. I will be starting on September 14, 2009. Hopefully before that date, I already made a formal exit at Qualfon Philippines Inc.

The Hangover

Doug was getting married to Tracy but his 2 best buds, Phil - a school teacher and Stu - a dentist, won't let him tie the knot without having a stag party. So the three of them, together with Tracy's brother Alan, went to Las Vegas to celebrate the day they'll never forget. They checked in at Caesar's Palace and they woke up with everything messed around, a tiger in the CR, a chicken clucking, Stu's tooth missing and a baby in the closet. What's worst is that they can't find Doug in the room and they can't remember anything that happened last night. It's really the worst hangover they had in their life. Tomorrow's gonna be Doug's wedding and they need to find him, but how? The three of them brainstormed what can they remember last night and they went on their way to discover how things became the way they are. But their car was missing so they took the Police car which apparently was stolen by them. First stop, they went to the hospital after finding out the yellow strap in Phil's wrist. They asked the doctor what happened when they were in the hospital. They then went to a church-like place and they found out that Stu has been married to a stripper named Jade and she's the mother of the baby they found inside the suite. They went to Jade's place and while she's telling about what happened last night, the policemen arrived and arrested the three of them. The policemen informed that they found their car was impounded so they made a deal with the officers to get the car and the three of them became a volunteer target for the taser demonstration. After retrieving the car, they're on the way to the suite when they heard someone banging the trunk of the car. They thought it was Doug and when they opened it, a naked man appeared and attacked them with a crowbar. Alan then admits that he put ecstasy in their drinks just to find out that it was roofies instead. They arrived in their hotel room and found Mike Tyson in the room. He was the owner of the tiger and he told them to return the tiger to his house. When they arrived in Tyson's place, he let them watch the CCTV footage that was taken the night they took the tiger. They continued to look for Doug and their car was attacked by another vehicle owned by Mr. Chow, the Chinese guy who was also the naked man they found in their car's trunk. Mr. Chow told them that Doug's with him and he will only release Doug if they return the poker chips worth $80,000 to him. The three groomsmen ended up playing Black Jack and winning around $82,000. They paid Chow but he kidnapped a different Doug who was the drug dealer who sold Alan the roofies. After figuring out how the roofies was called the way it is, they then realized that Doug could be locked in the hotels roof. They were right, Doug was there. They hurried to go their way to the wedding and they successfully arrived. Doug was married.

The best part of the movie is the part where credits were shown. There's the picture slide show of what really happened that night. That was very hilarious! Very funny indeed. This is one of the best comedy movies I have ever watched. Commendable!

The Ormoc Experience

Mark Meets Luna
August 12, 2009 - day off at last. My Tripod friend Elson was supposed to arrive here in Cebu to fetch the Golden Retriever dog he purchased. Due to inevitable circumstances, he failed to come. Good thing I'm free for 2 days so I agreed to take his place. I went to the airport early in the morning since the dog will arrive at 7:50 AM. He rented a car for me so that I could save time and energy because I have lots of stuff to bring which I bought yesterday and that included a 15-Kilo Dog Food. Then I met Luna - the 1 month old Golden Retriever puppy in a blue cage. After this, we went straight ahead to Pier 4 to buy ticket for my next trip - Ormoc City. The ship departed around 10:45 AM courtesy of Weesam Express and I arrived around 2 PM. It's my first time to travel by sea alone going to a place new for me. I thought Elson was outside the port area waiting for me just to find out that I will go to his place alone. Thanks God I arrived safe and sound.

The Couple
There goes the newly weds, Elson and Oshin. It's been a while since I've seen the both of them. Looks like their very happy in each other's arm. I'm looking forward for the church wedding.

The Three Dogs
Ling-Ling the Pug, Tiny the cute Golden Retriever and Luna the oversized Golden Retriever. I really missed having a pet dog.

Vegstar Lodging House and the Farming area
Elson mentioned to me about their business before. Now I have a clear picture of what he was talking about. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I stayed at Room 7 or maybe Elson really knows that my favorite number is 7. The room is nice. I hope my room is just like that.

The Seafood Experience
I'm not a big fan of seafood but I really appreciated what I was served. That big shrimp was really delicious. I really liked it. The Calamares with the Tequilla was very notable. It's my first time to drink Tequilla. Now I know why there's a salt or Calamansi fruit served together with it. The crab was fine but I don't feel like eating all the parts. It's also my first time to eat and open a crab. That was fun.

The Tripod

I missed those days.. When the three of us were still together. All we do is laugh and talk about nonsense things. We'll be together again.. someday.

Heartbreaking Departure

August 4, 2009

Today's my scheduled departure. Hours more and I'll be back to Cebu. Of course I won't leave my hometown without seeing my best friend Divine. A day after my arrival, July 31st 2009, she gave birth to a beautiful angel named Deivienne Shendalzare. Thanks God both of them were safe. I know Divine and Eugene will be good parents to her.

She's currently staying at Eugene's house at Greenville. It's been a year since I last visited that place and I'm still not familiar on how to get there. I arrived around 9 in the morning. Finally, those eyes that I loved to watch, the voice that I've loved to hear, the smile that I've loved to see and the person I loved to be with.. was there.. in front of me. Our last meeting last summer was a complete fiasco. Now, we have only an hour to spend with. It's such a short time for both of us to talk about our lives... our dreams... and how we used to be. I can still feel the pain, and it still hurts. It's like my heart was stabbed by my own hands and I'm slowly thrusting it. All I can do is endure the pain and that's how it is.

Well, I did not meet her to reminisce how I feel but to reminisce what he have, what we are. She's my best friend, and she'll always be. Though I can't play my role all of the time but I hope she would still feel that I'm still here and I'm still her best friend. Her baby's cute. I hope she'll grow like her mom. The three of them make a good family. I hope Eugene will take care of them and I trust him that he would. I had hoped that I had more time to spend with them. I've got to tell her lots of stories. Time flies, indeed.

On the 28th on this month, we'll celebrate our 6th best friendship anniversary. Out of those 6 years, we only spent 7 months to make the most out of our friendship. I guess 7's really my favorite number..

I really loved this line..

"I'll build a wall around my heart that would only break apart for you.."

Shit happens..

August 3, 2009

It's been raining most of the time and I hate it because I can't go out and meet my friends. I'm thinking about visiting Divine today but I failed to do so. Instead me and my brother went to Antipolo and checked out the specifications of the Laptop that my sister is planning to buy. After that, we went straight to the Pasalubong Center and I'm thinking of buying my team mates something for them. Thinking of the money I have left, I decided not to pursue buying. Then we went to Super Palengke. This is the grocery store where we mostly do the groceries when I'm still living in Teresa. This place really changed. We're on our way home after buying the foods that I'll bring for tomorrow's trip and something disgusting happened to me. It's very disgusting! I was walking when I felt that I stepped on something slippery, just to find out I stepped on a dog's shit. That was terrible. Good thing I've got a tissue with me since we went to McDonald's a while a go and bought a sundae. Now I believe everything happens for a reason. That's the reason why it came to my mind to treat my brother a sundae because a shit is coming on my way. Without the tissue, I can't think of any other way to remove the shit out of my feet. Damn. What a nice remembrance!

Lesson learned: Always bring a tissue and look where you're walking at.

After the Wedding

August 2, 2009 - Sunday

Yesterday's been a big day for us. One thing I'm sure of, everyone enjoyed yesterday. My sister's now living with his husband in their apartment. Yes, they're starting their own family. And now, I take full responsibility to my family. Got to work harder this time. We talked about the plans for the house. It is possible that my sister will go back to live here if his husband get the job abroad. Now, I have a vision on what would I want to have in the future. I want to get our home fixed before I get married! Hope it would come true or the latter would come true first. Let's see.

Moments later, my relatives just left our home to go back to their families. I was supposed to go to Divine's house today but I don't feel like going and I'm looking forward to seeing my classmates today that I invited to come yesterday. Mabel, Gladys and his boyfriend arrived around 10 in the evening.

I have only 2 days left here in Teresa. Of course I'd find a way to see Divine. Too bad my other classmates and friends failed to come. Anyway, I hope I'll be back next year and I'll see them again.

My Sister's Wedding

August 1, 2009

The big event in has finally arrived. Later at 3PM, 2 hearts would be united by God. It's my second time to be part of a wedding event. As far as I can remember, that first time was when I was a kid, around 3-5 years old. Yes I can still remember that and I did not participate in the entourage. I hated my partner. *LOL*. I said I would like Aiza Seguerra, a child star that time, to be my partner. But no Aiza came so I refused to join the entourage. Yeah, I know I'm a stupid kid. Hahahaha..

After waking up, we ate our breakfast and we went to the shop where we will hire the Barong Tagalog that we will wear later. Then went home and prepared for the wedding. It's rainy. The wedding was scheduled at 3:00 PM but the photographer arrived around 2:00 PM and they still need to make pictorials and video shoot for my sister's preparation before she wear the wedding gown. By the way, thanks to the internet. My Tita Karen was able to watch these preparations through a video call courtesy of Skype. Everything was finished around 2:50 PM, 10 minutes before the wedding. His soon to be husband must be nervous and thinking that her bride won't come. *LoL*. It's still raining.

Finally we arrived at the church, Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish Church. It's our town church. The mass started around 20 minutes after 3:00 P.M. Good thing, the priest was not that mad. I was almost teary eyed while I'm watching my sister walk down the aisle. Maybe this is just how it feels when you're happy for someone in your family. We're not close when we're still a child. We almost fight everyday. That's because we're still immature. But today, we're grown ups and we no longer fight. I can now feel that she's my sister.

My sister's now officially married. I almost cried when they're telling and accepting their vows. I can feel how my sister love Kuya Chris. They deserve each other and I know that they'll be happy together. After mass, we went to the reception venue at May-iba Covered Court. It's still raining cat and dogs. The program at the reception was great. The newly weds danced while they are being welcomed. Nice laugh. I never thought my brother-in-law and my sister could dance like that. Later, the laugh was on me. It's a tradition that the bride will throw the bouquet and the groom will throw the garter to the single ladies and gents. On the our turn, where we will catch the garter, nobody's reacting to it. We just let the garter fall. After 3 attempts, nobody was still catching so I decided just to catch it. All I knew was, the guy who caught the garter will put it to the thigh of the girl who caught the bouquet. Well, that's no big deal for me. After that, I was surprised that we also need to kiss each other. Hahahaha.. The girl was very young. Well, she was lucky.. Hahahahaha.. Too much of this shameful events.. Good food. The catering service was owned and managed by my godmother Ninang Ayette.

Also, part of the program, people who are close to the couple will leave inspirational messages to them. It's my first time to see my father cried. It was so touching. I know how my parents love us. And I know how it feels to see their eldest daughter leave the boundaries of the family they've nurtured for how many years. She will now build her own family. We're happy for our sister. I also gave her a message. I would also like to cry that time but I'm really holding my tears back. I always cry when I make speeches. It's just because I'm saying from my heart and that's how I felt that time. I'm really happy for her and I hope they're marriage will be as strong as a fortress and they'll live a happy married life forever.

After the program we went straight home. Outside was crowded despite the heavy rain. As usual, nothing has changed. Everytime there's a "handaan" or free meal in our place, most of the people will surely come even you don't invite them or even inform them. Anyway, we prepared for that and we learned from the past. Before, we let them get the food they want and they're very abusive. Now, we assigned our relatives to serve the food so that they won't be wasted.

It was a long day.. So exhausted.. A day to remember for a lifetime.. :D

The Departure and the Arrival

July 31, 2009

Today's my scheduled departure bound to Manila at 4:10 PM. I left the boarding house around 2 PM because it's rainy that time. I went straight ahead to SM City Cebu to retrieve my gift for my sister's wedding which was a laser-carved wood with their pictures in it. I left the mall past 3 PM. I checked my ticket and I've read in the guidelines that I should have checked in 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time otherwise, I'm gonna pay for applicable fees. I don't wanna be late, otherwise I'm gonna pay around 1600 pesos for my trip to be rescheduled. That time, I've got only 1500 pesos in my pocket. What would happen if I'll be late? Where will I get the lacking 100 pesos in case I got late? I was thinking of begging money from anybody in the airport. I just wanted to be at Manila this day. I've arrived at the airport around 3:30 PM and I hurried to the check in counter. I'm the 4th in line and I have a strong feeling that I'll make it. Time was running. Almost 5 minutes has passed and the entertained person at the counter was not yet done. "5J 572 now boarding at gate 5." It's my flight number. I'm almost panicking that time. I asked the lady in front of me what flight would she be and she said she's for the 6PM flight so I asked a favor if I could go first. She agreed, but the same person at the counter was still not yet done. 30 minutes more before the flight and I'm still waiting on the line. Around 5 minutes later when my turn came. Thanks God! I made it! After paying the terminal fee, I went straight ahead to gate 5 waiting area, drank my C2 as fast as I can, as I'm under the impression that bottled liquids are not allowed inside the plane unless it's zip locked, went inside the plane, found my seat, and waited for the take off. Another lesson learned. Never be late on a scheduled flight.

We arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 5:00 PM which was almost 20 minutes earlier than the estimated time of arrival. That was fast. I'm glad we're safe. Manila! It's been a year since my last visit and it' s very nice to hear people speaking my mother tongue. My Tita Jack was there waiting for me. It took time before we met because I went out at the arrival exit but she's waiting in the departure entrance so I went back inside and took the stairs. From the airport, we rode a taxi until Magallanes Avenue and from there we took MRT until Shaw Blvd. My cousin, Kuya Jundell and his father Papa Jun arrived earlier this morning and they'll go with us on our way home. We arrived at the jeepney terminal around 8 PM. It's weekend and lots of people are waiting in line for the next available jeepney. Good thing, I've met my high school classmates, Lorlyn and Maybelle while we're in the line. Instead of taking Morong jeepney, we just took the Tanay route so that we won't wait any longer for the next jeepney, but the fare is a bit a higher than the normal.

We finally arrived safe and sound. Everyone was busy for tomorrow's big event. It was nice being with my family again. We're complete!
