Mendoza-Vega Nuptials

June 19 - Elson and Oshin's church wedding was concluded at Our Lady of Divine Grace Parish in Simala, Sibonga, Cebu. I'm part of the entourage who will light the candles in the aisle. I really have no idea what to do, so I haven't notice that I already passed by the candle that I'm supposed to light. LOL. It's another addition to my collection of embarassing moments. But wait, there's more. On the reception, it's a tradition that single men and ladies are called and whoever catches the bouquet or garter will be the center of attraction. You know what I mean. Well, this time, they reversed the process. Whoever won't get anything (flower for ladies, table napkins for men) will be the one who'll take the hot seat. I thought I'm safe because I won't be catching that damn garter. Now I have to exert some effort to catch the table napkin. When Elson threw those napkins... well what can I say. The strap of my watch was broken and my eyeglasses almost fell. So there's no chance for me to catch. How lucky can I get? I just looked stupid again. Aside from that, they put a twist in inserting the garter into the lady's leg. I have to use my teeth. I really had a hard time doing that, plus the pressure, plus all the eyes looking at you, plus the laughter and most especially the host is very annoying that I could punch him afterwards. It's all over. I won't forget this. It's really embarassing. Everything recorded in video. Damn it. I had fun anyway.

Back to Operations

June 17, 2010 - The last day of Nesting and the training is finally over.  The 7-week IFP CST training has been tough and challenging. I have learned a lot though, thanks to our trainer Kathleen Egger. I've finished the 10-day Nesting without incurring any IA errors, which is quite an achievement for me. Remember that I have incurred an IA error the very first day of my EnB Nesting. History almost repeats itself since I also had an IA error on the first day of this IFP training, but eventually it was retracted.

July 18, 2010 - It's our graduation!!! I'm the second trainee who go the highest score in QA audits for the whole nesting period. We had a little celebration in the pantry afterwards.

Here's the token we received from our trainer. I don't know how to call this toy but it's more like of a stress ball, and you'll hear a laughing baby when you tap it.

Globaldailystar.com

I've been contributing articles to this site, globaldailystar.com. It is being managed by my college friend Billy. This is really eating my time. I hope you could check it out.

I'm Back.. Hopefully

I've been very very busy in front of my computer but this is the only time that I visited this blog after almost 2 months. There are lots of things to do and lots of things to deal with. I forgot that I wanted to document what's happening in this life of mine.

Some updates..

From my job.. hmmm.. Last March I believe is the month that I felt that I'm liking my job as an Eligibility and Benefits Member Services Advisor. I almost get a hundred percent score in my Quality score. I'm still wondering why I haven't received any incentive for that month, or maybe because I was absent for one day which was supposed to be valid. I also experienced being a floorwalker, or in layman's term, training assistant. Sharing what I have learned in operations is a very good thing for me. It's a proof that I learned. I appreciate the trust that my trainer gave me for appointing me as one of the floorwalkers for EnB Wave 18. It feels like that I'm doing good in something that I don't really like in the first place but eventually this made me appreciate my job even more. Not to mention that I've been the top performer of our department even just for a week. But then again, some good things never last. Two weeks after floorwalking, I was cross-skilled to a higher line of business, (Individual and Family Plans). I'm now on the last week of training. I don't know if I should be happy that I was transferred to another department. Maybe yes, since I'll get additional taxable 2000php on top of my salary. But the job itself, oh man, it's like I'd be jumping off a 20-storey building. I guess it's really the feeling when you're starting a new perspective. It's hard, I know. But we'll get through it. I will.. I'll just think that it would open doors for me for promotions since I'm cross-skilled.

What else.. I'll be posting some of the pictures of our Bohol Trip once I get the USB cable of my camera. I think I need to fill up this blog. It's so empty.

I can't think of anything else.. I'll still do my best to update this regularly.. :p
