New Facebook Homepage sucks

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - – Legions of Facebook users united in protest, demanding that the world's most popular social-networking service undo recent changes to its home page.

A "Change Facebook Back to Normal" group at the website claimed slightly more than a million members as once again, Facebook's penchant for change triggered ire among users that prefer things remain the same.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," a Facebook user with the screen name Carlos Deleon wrote on a protest group chat page.

On Friday, Facebook modified its news feed feature to let members of the world's leading social-networking service catch up on tidbits they may have missed while away from the website.

Facebook now lets members switch between getting real time streams of news or activities taking place, and highlights of what friends have shared online in the preceding 24 hours.

News Feed picks re-cap stories based on factors including how many friends have liked and commented on them.

The Live Feed option funnels updates and news about online friends' activities to Facebook home pages as the information surfaces.

"When we redesigned the Facebook home page last March, we heard from millions of users whose feedback was gathered and considered in developing News Feed and Live Feed," Facebook said in an email response to an AFP inquiry.

"Whenever we launch new products, we listen carefully to our users about what specific changes we can make to improve their experiences on the site."

Some Facebook users on Monday posted instructions describing a way to reset the former news feed mode to home pages by making "status updates" a default option.

"We encourage people to continue to send us constructive, detailed feedback and are committed to using it to inform how we build and improve the site for everyone," Facebook said.

Yes.. I'm starting to hate this new facebook. I'm not getting the live updates from my friends. The loading is so slow. Most of my friends are no longer sharing videos.

Bring back the old Facebook please!!!

PBB Double Up Day 2

Kakasimula pa lang ng linggo at Double Up na rin ang pangyayari sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya.


Nagswitch na ng houses ang dalawang Kambal. Si Kenny at JP ay nasa House B na at si Toffi at JM sa House A. Nahirapan ang mga kambal sa House B dahil pinaghinalaan agad sila ng mga babaeng housemates.

Samantala, binigyan ni Kuya ang mga housemates ng isang special task na susubok sa kanila kung sila'y handang magsakripisyo ng ilang materyal na bagay na mahalaga sa kanila. Kung anuman ang ilang maibigay ay mapupunta sa mga biktima ng bagyong Ondoy.

Bago matapos ang araw, ipinaalam ni kuya kay JM na hindi naaprubahan ang kanyang notice of leave sa trabaho. Pinapili sya ni kuya kung nais nyang manatili sa bahay ngunit mas pinili nyang magvoluntary exit na lamang dahil mas mahalaga sa kanya ang kanyang trabaho.

Nakapasok na ang first batch of housemates ng Pinoy Big Brother Double Up. Tinawag na Double Up ang season na ito dahil hahatiin ang mga housemates sa dalawang grupo na maninirahan sa dalawang magkaibang bahay ni Kuya.

Isa sa mga twist ng Season ng ito ang pagkakaroon ng dalawang identical twins na magpapalitan sa magkabilang bahay - sina Toffee at Kenny at sina JP at JM. Sa loob ng isang linggo, dapat walang makaalam sa mga housemates na meron silang kakambal, kung hindi ay mapapatawan sila ng forced eviction.

2. You spend more than an hour a day on Facebook. Lipari said it is difficult to define how much is too much when it comes to Facebook usage, but that an average person need only spend half an hour on the site.

3. You become obsessed with old loves or exes you reconnect with on Facebook.

4. You ignore work in favor of Facebook. This means you do not do your job in order to sneak time on Facebook.

5. The thought of getting off Facebook leaves you in cold sweat. If you try going a day without Facebook and it causes you stress and anxiety, this means you need help.

Lexmark Localization OJTs - The Reunion

After more than a year, the Lexmark Research and Development Corporation Localization On-the-Job Trainees were reunited. We had our eat-all-you-can lunch at Royal Concourse located at Gorordo Avenue. Me, Retchel, Glenn, Jofil, Eduardo, Gestoni, Mellomar and Dumski were there. I thought I could eat a lot. I don't like the food. It's very different from the other eat-all-you-can restaurants that I've tried. I think my 168php was not worth it. Anyway, it's the thought that counts. What's important is we're together. Nonetheless, I won't recommend and visit this restaurant again.

After we ate our lunch, Rodney and Denmark arrived. The restaurant was about to close that time that's why they weren't able to eat. We're having our pictorials outside the place and Monica arrived. We tried to contact our other fellow OJTs who were not there but they're not able to make it. Anabelle, Heart, Jill, Gladys, Rosanne and Crux were not there.

From Royal Concourse, we went straight ahead to SM and we watch the movie Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun-Li. It was an old movie but since the ticket is only 15 pesos, we still went ahead and watch it.

After the movie, it's parting time once again. This mini-reunion is not over though. We're planning to have another get-together event by the end of November and that would be on a beach. I hope that everyone will be able to attend.

It's a good thing that even we're on our separate ways, we still have time to spend together. After the wonderful working experience at Lexmark, we're now pursuing our different careers. Good for Rodney, Denmark and Gladys because they're still with Lexmark. I'm still hoping that I could still work for this company. It's one of the reason why I opted to stay here in Cebu. But if it's not for me, that alright. That OJT experience I think is enough to make me realize what would I want to be in the future..
