Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will also be getting a sequel, but looks like we'll need to wait for few more months since its premiere will be on September. I liked the first movie and I hope this will be better.

The Hunger Games Experience
I've watched the advanced screening of this movie last March 21 with my friends. I haven't finished reading the book yet but I enjoyed this movie. It felt like I'm a teenager again since most of the moviegoers that time were like teens. Overall the movie was great but Harry Potter is still the best movie adaptation for me *bias*. I'm looking forward to the sequel of this movie, Catching Fire. That would be a long wait. I'll promise I'll finish reading the book.
It looks like Mark Read didn't enjoy the movie. I just saw his FB post about the movie. It's funny because he can't relate. LOL. Well, I think the movie is really for teens and young adults.

The Hangover

Doug was getting married to Tracy but his 2 best buds, Phil - a school teacher and Stu - a dentist, won't let him tie the knot without having a stag party. So the three of them, together with Tracy's brother Alan, went to Las Vegas to celebrate the day they'll never forget. They checked in at Caesar's Palace and they woke up with everything messed around, a tiger in the CR, a chicken clucking, Stu's tooth missing and a baby in the closet. What's worst is that they can't find Doug in the room and they can't remember anything that happened last night. It's really the worst hangover they had in their life. Tomorrow's gonna be Doug's wedding and they need to find him, but how? The three of them brainstormed what can they remember last night and they went on their way to discover how things became the way they are. But their car was missing so they took the Police car which apparently was stolen by them. First stop, they went to the hospital after finding out the yellow strap in Phil's wrist. They asked the doctor what happened when they were in the hospital. They then went to a church-like place and they found out that Stu has been married to a stripper named Jade and she's the mother of the baby they found inside the suite. They went to Jade's place and while she's telling about what happened last night, the policemen arrived and arrested the three of them. The policemen informed that they found their car was impounded so they made a deal with the officers to get the car and the three of them became a volunteer target for the taser demonstration. After retrieving the car, they're on the way to the suite when they heard someone banging the trunk of the car. They thought it was Doug and when they opened it, a naked man appeared and attacked them with a crowbar. Alan then admits that he put ecstasy in their drinks just to find out that it was roofies instead. They arrived in their hotel room and found Mike Tyson in the room. He was the owner of the tiger and he told them to return the tiger to his house. When they arrived in Tyson's place, he let them watch the CCTV footage that was taken the night they took the tiger. They continued to look for Doug and their car was attacked by another vehicle owned by Mr. Chow, the Chinese guy who was also the naked man they found in their car's trunk. Mr. Chow told them that Doug's with him and he will only release Doug if they return the poker chips worth $80,000 to him. The three groomsmen ended up playing Black Jack and winning around $82,000. They paid Chow but he kidnapped a different Doug who was the drug dealer who sold Alan the roofies. After figuring out how the roofies was called the way it is, they then realized that Doug could be locked in the hotels roof. They were right, Doug was there. They hurried to go their way to the wedding and they successfully arrived. Doug was married.
The best part of the movie is the part where credits were shown. There's the picture slide show of what really happened that night. That was very hilarious! Very funny indeed. This is one of the best comedy movies I have ever watched. Commendable!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Now Showing!
The long wait is over. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is showing today! I'm supposed to watch the movie with my former co-employee at Etelecare but she didn't make it because she was sick, so I watched the movie by myself. I chose E-mall cinema over SM City Cebu because I knew that a lot of people and Harry Potter fans would watch the movie. And I guess I'm correct, and on top of it, you can only view the movie once to accommodate the other people who will watch the movie as well. My classmate Cristine and her high school classmates who are my friend as well also followed and watched the movie with me.
The movie was great. It is! Though it was not that action-packed as I expected, I liked everything about the movie. I've just finished reading the e-book yesterday and that really helped me to understand the movie better. Daniel Radcliffe never failed to give the best portrayal of Harry Potter. Ron, Hermione and Lavender Brown's love triangle made me laugh. They're awesome. Bellatrix Lestrange is really getting into my nerves and I commend the actress who portrayed her, she's so remarkable and very convincing. All the characters are great. I'm just sad, Dumbledore passed away. I'm looking forward to watching the next installment which is the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I have still 2 movies to look forward to since the last book will be divided into 2 movies.

I've watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I've just watch the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at SM City Cebu. The movie was fantastic! More actions, more close ups for the autobots and decepticons, and most of all, more MEGAN FOX!!! She's really gorgeous. Anyway, I really enjoyed watching the movie. Kudos to the makers of the special effects. It's so breath-taking, and it seems so real. I thought Optimus would die forever, but thanks to Sam, he was able to bring Optimus back to life. Megatron is still alive. I liked the twin robots, Mudslap and Skid. They're very funny. Shia's acting is remarkable especially on the scene that he's seeing the images on his mind. Great job to Michael Bay! He made this movie worth watching.
Here are some of the movie screen caps and I've added new posters as well. Thanks to comicsmovie.com...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
One of the most anticipated movie this year will hit the silver screen once again. The Autobots and the Decepticons are back in their sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I'm really looking forward to watching this movie. In fact, today is the showing of this movie here in Philippines. I'm on a day off today, but tomorrow's gonna be my payday so most likely I'll be able to watch this movie on my next day off. I'm so excited. I really like this movie! The first movie of Transformes was very great. The special effects were amazing. It seems like they're real and their transformation from being a vehicle to a robot was very realistic. I know this sequel will be much better and exciting. Good thing, Michael Bay is still the director.
Here are some of the movie posters of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen:

INKHEART movie

I just watched INKHEART this night at SM City Cebu.. It's my day off and I think I deserve myself a treat after all what happened the previous week, or should I say the previous month. The problem is, after my shift, I haven't been able to take a nap. I went to church right after my shift, then spent the remaining tokens I won at the World of Fun, then I went to the supermarket and bought myself a new cellphone. I bought a 5210 cellphone. Yes it's an old model. I don't want to buy a costly cellphone again, after all what happened to my 2 new cellphones, which lasted for 2 months and the other was 2 weeks only.
I'm very interested with this movie because I found the book where this movie was adapted and I thought this film is interesting. Yes it is. I'm so tired when I entered the cinema. Unfortunately, I'm not been able to concentrate with the movie because I'm so sleepy at that time. There are some scenes that I missed. I felt asleep in some scenes which I found not worth watching. Actually, I've been inside the cinema for almost 5 hours and I've watched the movie 4 times. But I haven't been able to watch the movie straight without my eyes closing to sleep. Lesson learned: Never watch a movie if you're sleepy. Hahaha.. I won't enjoy it that much.
Anyway, the movie was indeed interesting. The main character was Mo Folchart portrayed by Brendan Fraser, and he's a silvertounge. He can make the characters in the book alive when he's reading it aloud, and her daughter Meggie inherited the same gift. The part that I liked in the movie, was when Meggie brought Shadow to life, and then the page that she was reading was taken by the witch character, then her father gaver her the pen to continue the story by writing the scenes in her arm. Then they succeeded in their main goal, to bring her mother back. Their family is now complete. She haven't seen her mother since she was three years old.
Well the story doesn't end here. Inkhear is a trilogy, so I'll be expecting two more installments of this movie. And if I got money, I'm planning to buy the book also for me to understand more the story. Just like Harry Potter, I understood more what the story is all about after reading the books.
Heres the plot of the film. (courtesy of wikipedia.org)
Mortimer "Mo" Folchart (Brendan Fraser) and his 12-year-old daughter, Meggie (Eliza Bennett), share a passion for books. What they also share is an extraordinary gift for bringing characters from books to life when they read aloud. But there is a danger: when a character is brought to life from a book, a real person disappears into its pages.
On one of their trips to a secondhand book shop, Mo hears voices he hasn't heard for years, and when he locates the book they're coming from, it sends a shiver up his spine. It's Inkheart, a book filled with illustrations of medieval castles and strange creatures--a book he's been searching for since Meggie was three years old, when her mother, Resa (Sienna Guillory), vanished into its mystical world.
But Mo's plan to use the book to find and rescue Resa is thwarted when Capricorn (Andy Serkis), the evil villain of Inkheart, kidnaps Meggie and, discovering she has inherited her father's gift, demands that she bring his most powerful ally to life--the Shadow. Determined to rescue his daughter and send the fictional characters back where they belong, Mo assembles a small group of friends and family--some from the real world, some from the pages of books--and embarks on a daring and perilous journey to set things right.

Twilight

December 7, 2008
I've watched the Twilight movie with my boardmates. Usap-usapan kasi tong movie na to so I gave it a try. Saka the main character, Robert Pattison as Edward Cullen, also played the role of Cedric Diggory sa Harry Potter and the Goble of Fire. This is a story of a vampire who fell in love with a human.. Medyo ok naman ang story.. Ang movie, medyo bitin pa rin.. Wala pa masyadong excitement, not what I expected. Pero I'm looking forward on the sequel, "New Moon". Baka maganda na movie nyan.. The best pa rin Harry Potter. Pagkatapos ng movie, eto lang nasabi ko.. "Yun lang yun??"
Here's the plot of the movie: (from wikipedia.com)
Seventeen-year-old Bella Swan moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie, after her mother remarries. She is quickly befriended by many students at her new high school, where she is intrigued by a mysterious group of siblings known as the Cullens. Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in Biology class on her first day of school, and he appears to be disgusted by her, much to Bella's confusion. A few days later, Bella is nearly hit by a van when Edward suddenly appears and stops the vehicle with his hand. Although he refuses to explain this act to Bella, Edward warns her against becoming friends with him.
Bella eventually discovers that Edward is a vampire, though he only consumes animal blood, and the pair fall in love. After Edward introduces Bella to his vampire family, Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie, three nomadic vampires—James, Victoria, and Laurent— arrive and put Bella's life in danger. James, a tracker vampire, is intrigued by Edward's protectiveness over a human, and decides to hunt her for sport. Edward and his family put their lives at risk to protect Bella, but James lures her into a trap by making her believe he is holding her mother hostage. James attacks and bites Bella, but Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, arrives before he can kill her. James is destroyed, and Edward sucks the venom from James's bite out of Bella's arm, preventing her from becoming a vampire herself. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen. The film ends showing Victoria at the prom watching the pair together, ready to seek revenge for the murder of James.
The Day the Earth Stood Still

December 14, 2008
Sobrang boring sa boarding house so I decided to watch the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still". I've seen the trailer somewhere and I thought this is an interesting movie to watch. Keanu Reeves, as "Klaatu" is the main character of the movie. He came to save the earth from the human race. Sabi nga nya, "if Earth die, you will die, but if you die, Earth will survive." Dr. Helen, portrayed by Jennifer Connelly, believed that we can change. Then naconvince naman nya si Klaatu. Sa ending, he sacrificed himself para madestroy ung mga ant-or-fly-like creatures na part ni Gort, ung parang robot. Hehehe..
My thoughts about the movie.. Hmm..
Here's the plot of the movie: (courtesy of wikipedia.com)
A representative of an alien race that went through drastic evolution to survive its own climate change, Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) comes to Earth to assess whether humanity can reverse the environmental damage they have inflicted on their own planet. Klaatu himself already has a negative opinion of humans, and when detained by Regina Jackson, the United States Secretary of Defense, and barred from speaking to the United Nations, he decides they shall be exterminated so the planet – with its rare ability to sustain complex life – can survive. At Klaatu's command, Gort turns into a swarm of nanites that destroy everything in its path. Dr. Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) and her stepson Jacob (Jaden Smith) finally convince Klaatu that humans can change their ways and are worth saving.[5] Convinced by the two, Klaatu has them take him to the sphere in Central Park, warning them that even if he manages to stop Gort there will be a price to the human way of life. At the sphere, the nanobot cloud arrives before they can reach the sphere and they have to hide under a bridge. There it is revealed that Jacob has been infected by the nanites. Klaatu saves him, then sacrifices his physical form to stop Gort by walking through the nanites to the sphere and touching it. His actions cause the sphere to emit a massive EMP which fries Gort, saving humanity, but at the price of all of Earth's technology becoming useless. Afterward, the sphere leaves Earth. Jacob's last comment might hint that Klaatu did not die but rather was a part of the sphere's energy.
