I’m wondering why I haven’t received my bills yet for my internet connection. I have received my first bill, however, the courier told my boardmate that the address I provided was wrong, so he gave me the correct address. I don’t know why I haven’t received any bills yet. It’s been a month already. Good thing, I received my ATM card today. I’m browsing the brochure and also the website of my bank. I found out that I could pay my bills online using my ATM card. I visited my balance statement online at www.smart.com.ph/connect. I found out that my 2 bills for the month of August and September were already sent. I then went to http://www.bancnetonline.com/ and paid my August bill of 997.20 php. There’s no charge for this transaction and another good thing is, I won’t for a long queue just to get this taken cared of. This is my first time doing this and it feels great.

First Online Payment
Butt Spell
Yeah, it’s so embarassing. I got late from my break for barely 2 minutes and the consequence was doing a butt spell. Me and my fellow latecomers butt spelled the name of our company, Aegis People Support. Di ko maimagine na nagawa ko to.. Wahaha.. I really don’t like being in front of people and watching me. I don’t know what have got into me. I don't feel like I'm ashamed of what I'm doing. I’m glad, I’ve surpassed this fear successfully. I had fun anyway..

First Pay
I’ve just received my first pay from my current company. Better than my previous company Qualfon, but not as big as my first company, Etelecare. Anyway, adjustments such as night differentials and allowances were not added yet so I’m hoping for higher pay on the coming payday.. hahaha..

Perfection
We just had an OPS Talk this morning by one of our future supervisors. He explained everything what we need to know about how the operations work, the incentives, the metrics and all that stuff. Yes, I was kinda shocked about the metrics that we need to meet. Well, we need to obtain at least 98% percent in our Quality Assurance audits. It's kinda big, compared to my previous account. This is a big account anyway and I understand why we need to achieve that sky rise score. If we luckily meet our goals and scores in the overall scorecard, there's a corresponding performance bonus and this is monthly. The highest is 10k pesos followed by 6k, 4k and the least is 2k, which is not bad though. I'm also worried about the thing he mentioned if we didn't pass the nesting period. After nesting 2 and if we won't pass still, we'll be endorsed to HR and there's no assurance that we will be reprofiled. I'm still under the impression that even though we failed the training, we will be reprofiled to another account. But I don't want that to happen. My focus is passing this training period and be endorsed to production because it would be a shame if I fail.
This account really needs perfect agents that would give them perfect scores. I'm still worried. I don't want the Etelecare experience to happen again this time.

Kris visited my Dreamland
September 27, 2009
I had a dream. Kris Allen went in our place for a concert I guess. He even stopped by our house. And me, a big fan of him, did not slip the chance to have his autograph. I actually crammed for my journal just to get his precious signature.
I could still remember, I've been singing Kris Allen's song that day and his new single "Livin' like we're dying". His new single is great and I'm still looking for an MP3 of that song that I can download. I hope that he would have a concert here in the Philippines someday, like David Cook and David Archuleta did.

New Company: Aegis People Support
September 14, 2009
Today's my first day of employment at Aegis People Support. This is a new start for me. This is another chance for me to correct my mistakes and improve myself as an employee. Although I loved working with my previous company, Qualfon Philippines, I opted to accept this job offer. I'm not doing well with regards to my attendance because I've been tardy so many times. I've learned my lessons. I do hope that I'll never get late in this new company.
My new account is Blue Shield of California. It's a health insurance company for the state of California. This would be a challenging account because I was under a billing account and technical support previously.
It's very ironic that finally I got employed in this company. I can still remember, after graduation, this is the first call center I applied for. Unfortunately I didn't pass. The process before was a group interview and the chance of passing the initial stage of recruitment process was very slim. I've applied for this company for four times. It's not an intentional application, though. It just happened that they have a post in a local job fair and I'm really applying for whatever company that I would see. The last time was the Labor Day Job Fair at SM City Cebu. That time, it's already been two months and I'm still unemployed so I gave Aegis People Support (New company name, People Support previously), a chance. I was endorsed to examination, and I passed it. I was interviewed and the interviewee asked for the number of my previous team lead because they will be conducting a background check. I don't have the number of my TL that time and she told me that she will call me back by Monday to ask for the number. I never received any call. I have also a pending application that time with Qualfon Philippines Inc. and I was able to pass all the assessments and eventually I accepted the job offer. Almost 3 months have passed, the HR from Aegis PS calle me once again and asked if I'm still interested in pursuing my application. I said yes, however I'm already employed and I would like to finish my contract first before transferring to another company. What I have in mind was, I wanted to be regularized in my current company and I'm planning to go home by next year. Weeks later, they called again, and this time, I said no. I'm no longer interested. Then my sister got married and leaving me the responsibility of supporting my family. I said to myself, I need to find another job. The HR from Aegis PS called back and asked again if I'm still interested. This time, I said yes. They scheduled me for an exam and interview, and I passed these again. The day after, I underwent phone simulation and final interview. I passed these again. Afterwards, they presented me the job offer. With the thought that this company has competitive compensation package, I accepted the offer.

sharkfire.i.ph
I've just created another blog sharkfire.i.ph. I decided to create another blog with .ph domain wherein I would be comfortable posting entries using my mother tongue. Although I know I could post my thoughts here using my language, it would be better that I would continue to use the English language. When I used the Live Traffic Feed widget, I've noticed that most of the visitors of this blog aren't from Philippines. For them to understand my entries, I would continue to use English.

This Weekend..
My plans this weekend:
1. Change the template of this blog.
> Although I like my current template, I would still like to change this because I would like to add more widgets just like what I have done with the previous template I've used.
2. Create sharkfire.i.ph.
> Yes, I will make another blog.
3. Go to church this Sunday.
> I'll make sure I will.
4. Do the laundry.
> The towels, the pants and the slacks need to be washed.
5. Plan the schedule for the tutorials.
> I would like to make my own template and header for this blog. Studying Dreamweaver and Photoshop further will enable me to do so. All I really need is the time and urgency to study once again.
6. Organize the e-mails.
> The emails that need to be deleted should be deleted.
7. Finish watching the 2nd final week of Tayong Dalawa.
> I've got the downloaded episodes ready. I really like this series. Next week's will be it's final week.
8. Watch at least 3 episodes of LOST season 2.
> Who will die, Shannon or Sawyer? I think Shannon will.
9. Watch at least 1 motion picture.
> If I'll be able to finish the download of Slumdog Millionaire, I'll watch this. Otherwise, I'll watch Bolt.
10. Update this blog.
> I failed to post the events last week.

Happy Birthday Kuya
September 10, 2009
Today's my best friend's birthday.. Kuya Jayson is now 22.. (Oops.. I revealed it.. ;p) Today's also our team building so I was not able to have a chat with him. I'm supposed to call him but the number he gave was not working. Anyway, I wish him all the best in life 'cause he deserves it. There are lots of things he'd been through especially what happened earlier this year and I do hope he'll get over it though I understand how hard it is to forget that. I know his dreams will come true. He's a man that would always want to plan ahead. I think the distance between us made our friendship grew stronger and we became more mature persons. To be honest, our friendship is the best consolation I ever have after making my turning point decision of studying here in Cebu and made me think that this decision is worth it.

Today..
- I was surprised that I received my salary. I thought my last pay will be on hold as far as the separtion policy is concerned.. I can now pay the contribution for tomorrow's team building, and most of all, I can still send my brother's allowance.. :D
- I had my medical examination done.
- I forgot today's a holiday here in Cebu. The government offices were closed. I still need to comply my NBI clearance and BIR requirements. Tomorrow's our team building and I think we'll be back by Friday afternoon.. If I won't make it this Friday, my only chance is this Friday morning. I need to complete the four main requirements before 2 PM this coming Monday.
- I just bought a new towel and shorts.. :D
- Kuya Jayson will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow!

Pimping sharkfire
I'm looking for better themes for this blog. I would like to change this blog to something lighter since my past themes were dark, but black really means something to me and I can't resist checking dark-themed blog templates. I don't have enough time to finish this and I need to get some sleep. I still have to go for work. It' my last week by the way.

jrortega.wordpress.com now up
I've just finished creating Kuya Jayson's blog-slash-website. I have chosen wordpress to be our CMS since we have plans of upgrading it and getting a domain name. I'm not yet done studying Dreamweaver and Php. Well, Kuya's birthday is approaching and I promised him that I'll create a site for him before his birthday. This would work, for now.

September Fever
Time flies.. September na.. Lot of changes and adjustments will happen this month, I suppose..
What to expect:
1. Leaving Qualfon
> September 12 will be my last day of employment here in Qualfon. Though it breaks my heart to leave this company, I have to. Aside from compensation issues, I feel like I'm not performing well in this company, not in terms of Quality Assurance but as an employee. I've got the worst tardiness record in my employment history. I just care less. That's it. Hahaha...
2. Hello Aegis PS
> I'll be starting this September 14. I can now be proud of where I'm working at. New account, new challenges, new faces, new me..
3. Scarcity
> A month without money. I won't receive my last pay 'til four months and I'll be receiving my first pay by the end of the month.
